Andy Pendleton
Andy Pendleton has been involved in baseball since age four, playing at Lake Highlands High School and East Central University before beginning his coaching career. His experience taught him that long-term development depends on consistent practice, effective communication, quality coaching, meaningful competition, and the confidence earned through preparation. After college, Andy coached a majors-level tournament team from 10U through 13U, helping players develop into successful high school and college athletes, with some earning opportunities to play professionally. As a husband to Meredith and father to Palmer, Beckett, and Walker, Andy now understands youth sports from both a coach’s and a parent’s perspective, including the time commitments, financial pressures, and limited accessibility often associated with year-round travel programs. He founded Sandlot League to provide local baseball and softball players with a structured, development-focused alternative built around more repetitions, skill instruction, competition, and confidence without placing unnecessary strain on families. Andy believes athletes should have consistent access to high-level training in an environment where effort is rewarded, skills are sharpened, and a lasting love for the game can grow.

His impact can be seen all over the metroplex for the last two decades! Alan has coached travel and club teams that have gone on to compete for national championships at several levels including the USSSA Elite 32 and the pinnacle of amateur baseball tournaments, The Connie Mack World Series. The success of those teams and players isn't an accident. From varsity baseball players to collegiate and professional athletes, countless competitors have been shaped by Alan's instruction and mentorship. It is the result of years of intentional coaching, encouragement, and development.Â
Coached by both Andy and Alan from ages 11-13, Ashten built a foundation that carried him through a collegiate career at East Tennessee State, Paris Junior College, Loyola Marymount, and LSU Shreveport. But what sets him apart isn't his playing resume — it's his connection with the kids. He builds trust fast, creates an environment where young athletes feel confident and excited to learn, and brings an energy for the game that's contagious. Sandlot is excited to welcome Coach Ashten back for another season of developing athletes and helping kids fall in love with baseball.
Teague's journey with Sandlot started long before he wore a coach's shirt. As a player, he was coached and trained under Andy Pendleton and Alan Chasak from ages 10-14, experiencing firsthand what great coaching and real development look like. He went on to play collegiate baseball, and after coaching in the travel ball world, realized too many kids were playing games without truly developing — that's what led him to Sandlot. Teague brings energy, competitiveness, and a genuine passion for helping young athletes build confidence and sharpen their skills. For him, success isn't about winning games — it's about developing players who love baseball and become the best versions of themselves.
